Terms and conditions relating to JAPAN AUTO TRADING cc’s products

Petrol engines

30-day warranty on aspirated engines from invoice date unless otherwise stated on the front on this invoice.

14-day warranty on non-performance turbo and supercharged engines unless otherwise stated on the front of the invoice

Performance motors IE. 1JZ, 2JZ, 1UZ, RB25, RB26, SR20, Barra or ANY other engines used for racing, drifting, spinning or conversion purposes are sold with a compression test warranty to be done at Japan Auto Trading premises unless otherwise stated on the front of the invoice.

A new fuel filter, new oil, water pump, oil filter and air filter, spark plugs, cam belt / Timing chain must be fitted on installation of the engine

Replace rear main oil seal, timing cover seals, balancer shaft seal, oil pump, oil pump seal & cam seals, since oil leaks are not guaranteed. Thus, the onus lies with you to replace the necessary seals.

The radiator and oil cooler must be cleaned. New thermostat to be fitted and your water hoses must be in good condition. Check all these items to avoid overheating the engine.

Timing must be set to manufacturer’s specifications. Check for wear on the cambelt / timing chain.

Oil pressure and temperature gauge must be operative on the dashboard.

Each engine has heat tabs fitted on them and trade marked paint. Under no circumstance is the heat tab or paint to be removed. Removal of our heat tabs and paint voids the guarantee and any liability towards Japan Auto Trading cc.

Check & clean the oil pick up from any oil sludge, by removing the sump. Also, strongly recommended, is to fit new oil pump. Thereafter seal with the proper sealant.

Diesel engines

Japan Auto Trading cc offers a Starting warranty on our premises for Diesel Engines with a manual diesel pump and 14-days warranty for Diesel Engines fitted with an OE electronic diesel pump.

It is imperative that you calibrate the diesel pump, diesel injectors must be services or replaced with new injectors or coded (as required) fit a new timing belt or timing chain and thereafter correctly set the timing.

Please make sure that you are satisfied with your purchase prior to payment. Payment on the Diesel engine indicates that you are aware and accept our starting guarantee policy Refunds or exchanges will not be recognized.

Gearboxes

21-day warranty on manual Gearboxes & 14-day warranty on automatic/DSG gearboxes from Invoice date.

On rear-wheel drive gearboxes, make sure your prop-shaft is correctly balanced. A broken or damaged extension housing will not be recognized as part of your warranty.

A new spigot shaft bearing/bush must be fitted. No warranty on broken gears

Inspect to make sure that your existing gearbox mounting is in a good condition.

Use oil as per your manufacturer’s specifications. Gearboxes run with no oil or the incorrect oil is not guaranteed.

Refunds and exchanges

Goods correctly supplied will not be refundable or exchanged and if conditions on secondary terms are not met.

Warranty is null & void, if upon inspection it is found that the engines heat tabs are melted or removed, trade marked paint has been removed, if the engine was overheated, over revved, misused and if your vehicle was not brought to Japan Auto Trading cc’s premises within the 5-day inspection period.

No claim for consequential damages or labour charges, towing costs, vehicle hire, downtime and/or claims for any charges and/or cost of whatsoever nature arising out of the exchange of any goods purchased shall be recognized.

Do not strip or disassemble your engine or gearbox should you experience a problem, as this will void your guarantee. You must contact your sales consultant immediately for our corrective action.

Goods, until fully paid for, remain the property of Japan Auto Trading cc.

No guarantee is given on Turbo’s. On turbo purchases, our manufactures state that you need to ensure that the main shaft and compressor nuts are lubricated with loctite and torqued correctly. New engine oil is to be used. Make sure and check that the turbo oil feed and return pipes/lines are clean and free from dirt and blockages. Hold the Turbine shaft prior to start up to ensure that turbo shaft and bearing lubrication gets good oil lubrication once the engine is started.

Electrical parts, products and components sold are not guaranteed at all and cannot be returned.

Engine attachments. (e.g. starter, alternator, distributor, diesel & oil pump, carburetor, starter, water pump, injectors etc.) are also not included in the guarantee.

Final decision is up to the discretion of Japan Auto Trading cc.

General
